You know you should be stepping outside your comfort zone. I’m sure you have heard this phrase before. You’ve probably heard it a million times. But it’s the truth. By remaining in your comfort zone, you are limiting yourself.
Why People Remain In Their Comfort Zone
Most people stay in their small little bubble because they are comfortable with it. They have done it for so long and it’s what they know. They are people who hate their job to death, but they still stick with them because they fear change. People stay with abusive spouses simply because the fear of change is greater than the fear of being abused again. Something I will never understand.
I am guilty as changed, though. When I began this business in network marketing, I was stuck in my comfort zone and I was unwilling to try new strategies and do new things. Why? Not sure – looking back. I didn’t want to fall on my face and look like a fool, I suppose – so I kept my business a secret and told virtually nobody. Weird – I know. But I feared change – and feared rejection. I was comfortable with people saying ‘yes’ to me and I feared rejection.
Why You Should Step Out Of Your Comfort Zone
I don’t’ want to go in to details. I know you know the grass is greener on the other side. Simple as that. Those who step outside of their bubble are rewarded. It takes guts to start a business. It takes guts to walk up to someone to introduce yourself. It takes guts to jump out of a plane. It takes guts to propose to your spouse in marriage. I get it…But I can tell you one thing – If you don’t do it, you will regret it for the rest of your life.
“You will regret 100% of the things you don’t ‘try…”
Every once in a while I get a wild hair and decide to shoot a video like this. I was out shooting several videos – matter of fact exactly 30 – as I shot 31 videos that afternoon. I just want people to understand that there are no excuses. If you want something bad enough – you will do what it takes to make it happen. Period. Get out there and do it – the world is waiting for you!

I agree with you. There is no sense in limiting ourselves to our comfort zone. For me, it is better to commit small mistakes in doing new things than be an expert in a limited area.

Well said, Lisa.

Amen to that Brock and that was something I had to learn how to do. It’s not fun, it’s not comfortable but you’ll look back later and think what the heck was I waiting for.
I believe people are just afraid of the unknown. We don’t know what we don’t know but how can we expect to reach that unknown until we at least try. Isn’t that what life is really about? Doing something we’ve never done before so that we can have better and do better.
I love your message and love that scenery Brock. I love your energy and your passion which is why I enjoy watching your video messages. Keep them coming and continue to inspire my friend.
Have an awesome day!

“you’ll look back later and think what the heck was I waiting for…”
Yep. I have reached that point. Thanks goodness. Many don’t. I guess I am fortunate enough to have been pushed far enough and hard enough to make that change to step out of my comfort zone.
Take a moment and ask yourself where you think you would be if you never actually did. If you were still trapped in your bubble from years ago. What would life be like? I couldn’t imagine. Scary to think about, I guess.
Many thanks for your input, Adrienne!

Hi Brock,
thanks for sharing your insights. One of my mentors (Tom ‘Big Al’ Schreiter) taught me an important lesson: People won’t do anything consistently if they are outside their comfort zone. If they don’t feel comfortable doing videos, they won’t do it. They only will apply themselves to things they still feel comfortable with. We can be at the edge of it, but not beyond.
That doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t try something new because we might feel comfortable in the new
Be blessed
Oliver

I see what you mean. This is true. I think a lot of us are still that way in some regard. I think we all have things that pushes our ‘comfort limit’ and we still ‘remain back’.
I think we simply need to be aware of the fact that we are uncomfortable with it and try our best to overcome that fear or discomfort.
Very true – keep trying new things. We aren’t able to make an accurate judgement unless we try it ourselves.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Oliver. Always enjoy your company.

Such a nice and inspiring article! I totally agree, we all have to step out of our comfort zones to get a wider view of the situation, and to get out of stuck.
