Residual Income VS. No Residual Income

MLM Training

Interesting thought, right? Either this or that. You can be making Residual Income for life; or you could not. It was back in 2010 when I first heard of this. I didn’t even know what the term meant.

Residual Income/Passive Income: An income received on a regular basis, with little effort required to maintain it.

When I first learned this, I asked myself; “So, I could either work and get paid, or I could work and get paid for life because of it…?” I understood how this worked -  I needed to join a Network Marketing company and go on auto-ship. But which company? There are hundreds. Software MLM companies. Drink MLM companies. Health food MLM companies. Jewelry MLM companies. The list goes on. I knew that everybody wanted to lose weight and feel amazing. I new that the foods you eat (or don’t eat) directly effects your health – so I knew that a Health and Wellness company would be right up my alley – and also something that a lot of people would be interested in. I joined, and never looked back! I wanted Residual Income!

Residual Income VS No Residual

Main Pros And Cons To Working At A J.O.B.

We have all worked at a job. All of us. We know what it’s like. Some are more fun than others. Some are more rewarding than others. But it all boils down to your check.

CONS:

- Advancement is limited

- Hourly wage/salary is limited

- Potentially bothersome coworkers

- Income is NOT Residual. If you want to get paid, you have to work again. Stop working, and stop getting paid.

PROS:

-You are paid on a consistent basis usually with a consistent amount

Main Pros And Cons To An MLM Business

CONS:

- Ultra small investment

PROS:

- You are your own boss

- You work from home

- Your income is uncapped

- Your income grows as the people you have sponsored tell others, and so on

- You work with only like-minded individuals

- You lose weight and feel amazing as a side effect (in the company I am with)

- True Residual Income for life (there are companies who cut off your income at a certain age – not us)

How Do You Succeed In MLM?

Simple. Sponsor reps. Just tell others about the business opportunity or product benefit. When people see the opportunity and want to do it for themselves, you simply sign them up. Repeat this process over and over and you will be sitting on a yacht before you know it. Be sure to read, How To Make MLM Work.

If you simply sponsor reps and walk away – you are setting yourself up for disappointment. Why? Because your down-line/team doesn’t know what they are doing. Line them up with MLSP and you are golden. They can now teach themselves exactly what needs to take place in order to have endless prospects in front of their business. The cycle continues.

Simply Comes Down To Choice

Having an MLM business is not hard. Not even a little.  Building Residual Income really comes down to choice. Either you want it, or you don’t. Yes or no. Black or white.  People tend to fear the unknown. They fear that they are going in to something with a blindfold on and nobody will be there to help them. This, in most cases, is true. Many people join their mother or their brother – who haven’t a clue what they are doing. This ‘cluelessness’ rubs off on the newcomer and pretty soon they both drop out because they haven’t sponsored more than a single person.

I assure you that this is not the case when you join a leader. See, leaders want to help. They can see in you, what you don’t yet see in yourself. They can help you improve where you are lacking and push you to where you never thought you could go.  There is really no reason to fail. When you have all the info you need sitting right on your lap, building residual income comes down to choice. Either you want to follow the steps, or you don’t want to follow the steps…

    Hey Brock,
When I first heard of residual income I was in my early twenties. I went to a couple of Amway meetings and I figured it wasn’t for me.

I know that now there are some amazing MLM companies out there and there are tons of people making a killing from it.

For me, blogging is my own little residual income earner. I know it takes time to build it up but I have all the time that I need to do it.

      Hey Justin!

It’s definitely a business model that isn’t right for everybody. That’s for sure.

Like I said in the video (at least I think I said it) it doesn’t matter what you do. If you are truly happy doing something – then awesome! Most people do not have that in life. Seriously. Do what you WANT to do. That will make you the happiest! :)

      Thanks Justin :)

    Hi Brock,

I couldn’t have said it better. Building residual income does come down to choice. I feel most people do not achieve this because they are simply to busy with their day jobs and miss out on too many opportunities.

    Cheers,

I’m with you. Those who want it will be out on the lookout for it. If they keep their blinders on while they go to work, they will never see it. If they take their blinders off, they will.

Simple and clear Brock, luv it. We choose to start a residual income. We choose to become free. Sponsor people. Persist. Repeat. The formula is absolute, clear and easy to understand.

Make connections. Sponsor folks. Help them proper. Both parties prosper. Thanks for sharing.

    Hi Brock,

residual income is awesome but most of us got brainwashed that we have to work over and over again to get paid. We might save a little money for hard times and our retirement, but it’s very hard to save money for retirement compared to sponsoring a few people who do the same and so on and so forth.

People don’t like change, and building a business becomes very hard if we try to fight this. So we have to offer them something within their comfort zone to begin with. When people get started in network marketing, they don’t have to change anything. They just have to continue doing what they have done since the age of 5 anyway, that means promoting and recommending products they like, to others. The only thing that changes is that they get paid for it from now on.

    Thanks for sharing your insights.

    Be blessed

You got it! We have all been brainwashed at one point or another. I am guilty as charged. I once used to think this way. Thank goodness for ‘aha’ moments.

People do not like change, as a majority – agreed. My parents are the best models of this. Seriously :) . I like that – offer something within their own comfort zone – great tip!

Thanks for your insights. Always love hearing your thoughts! :)

    Hi Brock,

Great post about residual income. As one can see, the pros outweigh the cons in this area. If one is lucky then they can make their residual income become their main source of income – look at bloggers who have made that happen.

    Again, great post.

Yes, the pros outweigh the cons, by far. I don’t know about ‘lucky’. It’s a pretty systematic approach, when you know what you are doing. You either want to succeed, or you don’t. Just follow the steps from the leaders.

Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

    Hey Brock,
Residual income is definitely the way to create prosperity because of that crazy duplication. Well said, help them prosper and they will have no reasons to leave. The possibilities are huge and of course can be extended to real estate and so on. Persistence is the name of the game. Keep doing until the residual income wheel starts to spin alone.. here is true leverage.
I love how you said it..If is something you really enjoy doing it, no matter what it is. The true happiness is found in growing while doing what you love. Simple as that.
Having other financial windows open like your own information products or affiliate products good for MLM are good options to be considered too.

Brock buddy, if we keep following our dreams, with the same persistence you climb the same mountain again and again.. boy we become top earners:)
    Keep doing it:)

    Thanks for sharing your ideas,
    Radu

You said it perfectly. Help them prosper, and you will prosper. All it is, is duplication. Persistence, persistence, persistence! Keep doing it. Success doesn’t’ happen over night, but it will happen if you continue to take action-producing steps on a regular basis.

Absolutely, Radu. See you at the top ;)

    Hey Brock,

Loved the video and your explanation was right on. Others have mentioned as well, change is scary and the unknown is what holds a lot of people back. I know too many people who are not comfortable stepping outside their comfort zone. Even if it means being able to create this type of income for life. Kind of sad but what are you going to do right!

I think the more people are educated and shown the way, the more will eventually come on over and join the rest of us. I would hope that they would give themselves the opportunity to make their lives better. But like you also mentioned, it may not be for everyone. All I can say is that you’ll never know unless you try.

    Thanks Brock!

I’m with you. Fear is a big burden for many. Even when there is an awesome industry and they can see what’s on the other site – there are those who still refrain from making that change. Sad, really.
Just keep educating and pressing forward. The only regret I want people to have is the regret that they didn’t do this sooner ;) .

    Hey Brock,

Great post and video you got here. Residual income is definitely good to have. It’s a great feeling getting paid and sometimes not even know why. LOL Yes, most people hates change. For starters, we should be the leader they need to look up to. We need to be there for them to make it happen. It’s important to make them feel that we care and we’re here to help. Thanks for this post! Keep it up! :D

You are very correct. That’s what holds so many people back from accomplishing most things in life – they are comfortable where they are and are afraid to change. Unfortunate.

Help people realize this, and you will prosper. Show them that there is a brighter light on the other site. Guide them to that light.

Thanks for the kind words. Thanks for stopping by :)

Never really thought in these terms. Bottom line you have to dig out value. It’s not solely about what a person does, like writing blogs, or how a person does it, operating a site/selling ebooks, it’s about why you are doing it, which can range exponentially, but for a lot of people it’s about helping other people. I think if you just focus your what you do around the why, you’ll find pathways to residual income.

Nice post Brock, you’ve broadened my knowledge.

You are 110% correct! Focus on the why. This is overlooked by the vast majority of people. Not only focus on it, but tell others about your why. It’s all about giving value. If one were to do nothing but help others, eventually, they will have an abundance of success. The more you help, the more you succeed. That simple. Solve the problems of others.

Well said, Chris. Glad to see you over here again. Always appreciate your input!

Brock, aloha. Well done, my friend. This industry is so amazing yet so many people dismiss it with no understanding of it at all. On the flip side, Brock, there are a whole lot of businesses I would not choose to be in that others do and thank heavens they do so their products/services are available to us.

You are right that the law barrier of entry is one of the biggest Cons. If people paid the money to get into our industry that they do to buy a McDonald’s or franchise, they would take it a lot more seriously.

The other Con (which is a plus for us) is that you are 100% responsible for what happens with your business. A very large percentage of the people do not welcome the news that they are responsible.

Great job on your explanation and the video, Brock. You are a terrific communicator.

Wishing you a fantastic weekend. Until next time, aloha. Janet

Agreed – it appears that so many people just brush Network Marketing off their shoulder like it’s nothing – without taking a moment to actually look at it – it’s like the word is haunted or something. Strange.

Absolutely, we are 100% responsible for what we do and how much we can make. Period. A leader can help you achieve your goal, they can give you the information that it will take to make it happen, but if you do not implement the information/steps, you will never achieve anything. Action = results!

Thanks again for the kind words. Always enjoy seeing you here and reading your input! Aloha!

I don’t think this business module is the right for me. But I might have to look at it before judging you know. You never know whether it is right or not until you get involved. I was so scared about using WordPress before and now I am very passionate about it. So as I said, get involved first and the judge whether it is good for you or not.

I think many people would feel the same way with the residual income platform – Network Marketing. But, it isn’t right for everybody.

Yes, I did say something like that in the video. If you are happy doing what you are doing, then maybe you don’t need a change. See, most people hate what they do and the want a change. And I am here to help them make that change. You should never give up something you truly enjoy for something that you will not…

You just make it so easy to understand and make a decision, Brock! =) Truthfully, I often find myself leaning toward a job and I’ve been trying to figure out why. I think it has to do with the fact that I don’t like the feeling of selling or asking others for something. Any thoughts on getting over it? =P

      Hey Samantha!

Jobs are great for a foundation. Something to hold you steady and give you a solid stream of income that you can rely on for a short period of time. I would recommend only using this as a backbone to get your business off the ground. Period. Why make no residual income when you can make residual income? Makes no sense to me. Seriously. :)

This is true. There are TONS of companies that require you to sell. In fact they all do. But, when you have a company that has something that everybody wants, you aren’t selling or convincing – you are simply sharing. People say “wow, I want that” and they are in. Just like that. When you truly have a product that changes lives, people will be in line asap. No selling – only caring. The power is in the company. Food for thought. ;)
