What is life to you?Chances are it is slightly different than my own interpretation – and different from many others. We were all raised differently, brought up around different conditions, and exposed to many different things. This creates different people – and because of this, we all have different outlooks on life.
We all have been given the gift of life. Some chose to live life to the fullest by, traveling, buying items that we want, building friendships, starting families, etc… Others choose to let it pass. They would rather isolate themselves by avoiding friends, never starting a family, never travel, or complain about what they don’t have. Either scenario is a complete choice. We can chose to to go down either path, or somewhere in between. Neither is officially ‘good’ or ‘bad’ – but rather we interpret them in our own way as ‘good’ or ‘bad’. Hopefully this makes sense.
I would like to know your own interpretation. I want to know what you think. You are more than welcome to write as much or as little as you’d like.
The video is of me explaining my own interpretation. Right or wrong; good or bad – I’m not sure. I just know that it is what I feel.
Looking forward to your thoughts…

Brock, aloha. My first thought was “how on earth can you discuss such a meaty topic as you are driving along?”
That aside, Brock, I do like that you so appreciate your existence. In my opinion, we all should be grateful for our lives and what is in them.
Brock, I have always felt that my purpose for being here was to enjoy, to savor and to experience life. As Joseph Campbell said, “follow your bliss.” And that, Brock, is the path I have always followed.
Like you, I believe life is a journey. We may start down one road and then we come to “‘ye old fork in the road.” More often that not, I have chosen the road less traveled.
The people I meet along the way and the myriad of experiences, make the journey that much more meaningful and emotionally rich.
Next time, Brock, please pull over to the side of the road or sit in your car in a scenic spot while you make the recording.
Best wishes for a fantastic week, Brock. Until later, aloha. Janet

“to enjoy, to savor and to experience life.” I’m with ya! Life the life that you WANT to live! Everything is a road, a pathway, or a journey that we can go down and experience.
“The people I meet along the way and the myriad of experiences, make the journey that much more meaningful and emotionally rich.” So true, so true. When we pick a road or pathway, we are able to meed and discuss topics with people who are interested in the same things. That’s all more the better!
As far as pulling over – nahhh, it makes like more interesting to me. I have to do 1,342 things at once, otherwise I feel like I am at a stand-still

Hey Brock,
My journey perspective has changed quite a bit during my life. It was once about getting things, being famous, and making money. And it still is.
It has actually expanded way beyond that. I see myself now as a droplet in an Ocean of consciousness. My goal is to improve myself, and humanity as best as I can by being an inspiration to others.
Every person that I meet, even online bloggers have a terrific gift to share with the world.

Hey Justin!
Awesome! I think we all have a goal of making more money. I know it is a huge motivator for me. Why make $1,000 when you can make $10,000. Why make $100,000 when you can create $1M? It definitely a motivator. But I do think that it is important to have additional motivations. Like you, I also want to help change others within this world and the only way to do that is to improve myself, first. I have made some huge leaps and bounds in the last 2 years. I am quite astonished, actually.
Keep doing what you are doing! Thanks again for stopping by!

Hey Brock,
Great topic and I am thrilled to hear that you are just so grateful to be here and that you just appreciate life. I love hearing that.
This has also changed for me over the years as well. I mean growing up I was taught that your existence is to get married and raise your family and nothing else was really important. When that didn’t happen for me you can imagine my shock and confusion about why I was even here.
But throughout my life I have learned the lessons as well that made me appreciate just every single day. To me it’s not about having fancy things, it’s just about being happy and being able to help others. I’m just glad I learned this while still in my prime.
Appreciate you sharing your thoughts with us as well and will look forward to more interesting videos from you.
Adrienne

Hey Adrienne!
I was raised very similarly. Although my parents never married – I was never really taught that anything else was important; really, nothing was important. I was never taught anything about purpose – as strange as that may sound. Everything I have learned has come from many sources. And I do mean many.
“I’m just glad I learned this while still in my prime.” You and me both, Adrienne…you and me both!

Hi Brock,
I haven’t actually seen your video yet. (I’m at the library with no headphones). I figure I can answer your question based on what you wrote. If the question is “What is life to me” I can say that I agree with you. Life is a journey. Life is a journey with lots of distractions blinding you of what life is. I think we as humans don’t spend enough time blocking the distractions. Distractions can be: wanting to be rich, power, worldly possessions, etc. If we can keep the perspective of life being a journey and along the way we learn amazing stuff, and meet amazing people, we would be alot happier.
I hope this made sense. I will check out your video when I get home.

Hey Vic!
That makes perfect sense. “Life is a journey with lots of distractions blinding you of what life is.” I couldn’t agree with you more, here. Life is just simply to be enjoyed. Period. Nothing more, nothing less. We are so distracted and focus our time on trying to reach that destination of ‘wealth, items, power…”. If we would just stop and realize that we must enjoy the journey, this would would be a much, MUCH happier place
.
Thanks for stopping by. Always great to see you here

Hi Brock,
I really enjoyed your video. Great discussion topic here:)
Well, I agree with you, life should be a wonderful journey and not an eternal struggle or chase. I like to say that my life is a like a river… for a couple of reasons:
It comes from a mountain or hill (your family, social conditions or limitations which are more or less harsh).
But soon, it starts to flow easily and effortlessly on a plain field (you discover your creative power and start to joyfully create the experiences you want, achieve the goals and the lifestyle you want etc.).
Along his path the river is a great resource for people, animals and people because it provides water, fish and other resources (you use your talents to help others and make a positive difference in the world).
At some point the river may encounter big rocks, mountains or logs but it patiently advance to its destination (you face different challenges or obstacles but with perseverance and joy you move on with reinforced powers).
Finally it comes a time when our river arrives into an ocean or sea. It is extra happy and make a pleasant noise when it flows into the ocean. Also it knows that the journey never ends because there is a global circuit of water into the nature: ocean-ground water–and mountain again (you die after an amazing life experience leaving the world a better place knowing that you will return in another form to live new adventures.
This is how I perceive life.. The journey never ends and I’m so grateful for that:) It’s long as my comment.. ha ha
Thanks for sharing your great insight with us.
Wish you a fantastic journey:)

Radu!
Holy cow! That river-analogy was epic!!! So very accurate and detailed. Better than my ‘life is a journey’. lol. Seriously though, it makes perfect sense! Moving boulders, crossing fields, coming from the mountain top – eventually reaching the ocean. Awesome! I want to see a post of this analogy on your page, pronto!
.
Your comment was almost as long as the journey itself! haha. But I like it!
Thanks for sharing YOUR incites with us!
Always good to see you here!

Life-life-life How beautiful it is. Sometimes I sit and start thinking about the struggles, and then I remind myself….DUDE how boring would it be if none of this would have happened, how would it be if everyday you woke up and there was nothing to live for, to work for, to achieve.
You’re spot on Brock, it’s a journey and for some it could be a shitty journey (if they let it be) for others it can be amazing. Thanks God, we have choices.

Hey Wilson!
“…if everyday you woke up and there was nothing to live for, to work for, to achieve.” I couldn’t imagine. Seriously. I’m glad we live in a world where this is certainly available and possible.
“…if they let it be.” Agreed. I think it’s safe to say that we have all gone through tough times and some quite a bit tougher than others. But the reality is that we all have the ability to get out of it. Will it take time? Yes. Will it take work? Yes. But can it be done? YES! Our drive to overcome negativity in our lives must be stronger than the urge to stand still. And that is yet another reason why life is a journey (or river)
.

Hi Brock.
I too have same thought for life like you that it not an destiny but never ending JOURNEY.
For e.g. we born and grow up and do several thing like study, play, travell, job, earn, enjoy etc..these are all aspects or one type of activities of our life which we have to do till our last breath. So here there is no start no end, no destiny nothing. Its just simply a flow and journey between BIRTH and DEATH.
But it WE who have given all such names like Destiny, Joy, Happiness, Sadness on basis of our feeling.

Hey Megan,
Glad to hear we are on the same page with this subject matter.
We only get one life – so we much enjoy it – enjoy the journey. If we spend our whole lives working for a destination, then we pass by our whole life and have ignored out journey.
Thanks for sharing!
