Best Social Media Platform To Date
Are you adding friends on Facebook? Well, if you haven’t heard of Facebook by now, you are either an infant who hasn’t yet started to understand the English language yet, or you are deaf, blind, and can’t read braille because you fingers have been lost in a freak accident. Yep – it’s that wide-spread. Heck, I’ve even noticed people creating a profile for their cat and make regular updates for it.
Since the creation of Facebook by Mark Zuckerberg, it has taken off in epic proportions. Because of this, we have the potential to create many friends and followers here. To date there are about 750,000,000 users! That’s nuts! So my question to you is: “Do you think there is anybody on Facebook that wants what you have to offer?” I think it’s time to start adding friends on Facebook!
Things You Should Know About Adding Friends
Adding friends is great! It can grow your follow-base and it allows you to drive more traffic to your site. But adding people too fast could get your account banned – forever! So it is quite important not to upset Facebook when adding friends. Things to remember:
- Spammer Or Not – Facebook doesn’t know if you are a spammer or not. To prevent them from taking over the platform, they must set boundaries.
- Don’t Add Too Many Friends Per Day – Facebook shuns upon this. They will see you as a spammer and block you for a period of time. If it persists; then permanently.
- Build Relationships – It’s all about relationships. No exceptions. Facebook is a great way to do this. You can comment on their post, send them a direct message, like a status, or upload pictures and videos of yourself – and people can build a relationship with you on autopilot!
Limit Per Day – Adding Friends On Facebook
According to a top contributor to Facebook’s help pages, he recommends only 5 a day. He may be trying to frighten people with this. I have heard the average of 25 per day from others. I stick with around 20. No issues so far. But this isn’t the true determining factor for banning your account. Unaccepted friend-requests are! Things to remember:
- Unaccepted Friend Requests – This is the key! Facebook determines how many times you have sent friend requests. They also keep track of how many were accepted. If the amount of unaccepted friend requests grows, then you will be warned – and eventually labeled as a spammer and your account will be blocked.
- How Many Unaccepted Friend Requests – This is unknown. It may be part of an algorithm rather than simple number or series of numbers.
- Block Extended – If you are blocked, and you try to send a friend request during this time period – your blocking period will be extended for a few extra weeks to a few extra months. Be sure to wait it out!
- Target Your Prospects Well – You should only send friend requests to those that you think will accept. How do you determine this with 100%? Impossible. But you can judge pretty well.
- Comment When Adding A Friend – Never just click ‘add’. Be sure to type a message. Let them know who you are and why you are adding them! Maybe compliment them on something you have noticed on their page. Or simply tell them that you enjoy meeting new people. You decide – but just remember to make it personal!
Be Patient With Facebook
The friend-growing process is in fact a journey. If you want to get 5,000 followers in the first week, then you are going to be in a world of disappointment. Grow it slowly. Grow it safely. Remember, relationships are crucial. If you aren’t effectively maintaining a relationship with your followers, then you are adding them too fast, of you aren’t sharing more content about yourself. Hopefully you know a bit more about adding friends on Facebook. Best of luck!

Hello Brock. Some very good advice here that can actually be extended to a lot of social networks regardless of blockages. And I learnt something new about their unaccepted friend request policies…interesting. Now I’m intrigued to see how many friends you have made on Facebook.
On a different note, what a shame your friends mom cannot be in 1000′s of places at once. We seem to be awash with young people who believe it is up to the government or everyone else to find their future for them due to the messages they were also told.

Hey Pea!
Glad you learned a think or two about Facebook. Yep, they key is the amount of unaccepted friend requests lying around. Hopefully I don’t have too many. It’s hard to keep track of who accepted and who didn’t.
I’m with ya, she was inspiring. “…who believe it is up to the government or everyone else to find their future for them..” You said it all right here! This is incredibly true. We must take our lives in to our own hands. Develop pathways that will help us reach our goal. It’s unfortunate that the majority of society thinks this way. I’m just trying to do my part with that video
.

Hi Brock,
I found you on the blog of Oliver Tausend in the top commenters blog.Glad that I decided to click on your name.Your blog looks great and the video message is sensational:)
Regarding Facebook, I didn’t knew about its algorythm untill now.Indeed,Fbk is about sharing value and building relationships.Trying to spam will bring not only a closed account but also a lot of frustration(time spent on pitching etc). If you love people Facebook is your “ship”.They respond very well to a meaninful comment or a little gift(quote or note) and thus you will get a lot of friend requests. My number is around 10 people a day, so I can talk with them right after they accept my invitation.
Thank you for these insights!Look forward to network with you:)
All the best from Romania,
Radu

Hi Brock Blohm,
Whenever I am getting any Facebook friend request, first of all I am checking whether the person is genuine or fake profile by checking their photos and walls.

Agreed. I have been friend-requested so many times. If you look fake, I will avoid you. If something doesn’t look ‘normal’ I will avoid them. Absolutely!

I have a couple of added friends in my list which i never added myself. And when i click their names a message appears saying thaat:
“”person’s name” account has been deactivated. Only you can see him in your friend’s list. To unfriend him click unfriend”
what could be the reason of it and how it is possible to have such friends whom u never added?

Hey Hana,
To be honest, I do not know. This isn’t my area of expertise.
Facebook.com has many more valuable resources than me on this regard. You can probably post your question on a forum as well and have someone answer your question.
Sorry :/
Make it a great day!
